ABOUT FIVE ELEMENTS
We are a team of five students from Riverside High School in Launceston, Tasmania. We were formed in early 2019 to compete in the Tasmanian State Finals, where we were fortunate to place 2nd and receive the award for the ‘Best Team Verbal Presentation’. After competing in the state finals, we were given the opportunity to advance to the Australian National Finals in March 2020. We competed against teams from across Australia, placing 9th in the country and receiving the Australian Institute of Project Management’s ‘Best Managed Enterprise’ award.
During the time between nationals and now, we have been preparing for the f1 in schools virtual competition this year in October. With two new team members and the competition now being virtual, we hope to do well in the competition and exceed our previous placements.

THE FACES BEHIND FIVE ELEMENTS
For all members of Five Elements, we have individual roles that are all critical for our team’s project completion and success. These roles include the project director, resources manager, and graphics designer, who are a part of the enterprise team and the design engineer and structural engineer who are a part of the engineering team. As the enterprise and engineering teams, we work together on our separate goals, to ultimately deliver our project elements together.

PROJECT ELEMENTS
The f1 in schools competition entails us to complete certain elements that relate to enterprise and engineering. Some of them include acquiring sponsors, writing two portfolios documenting the enterprise and engineering processes and research, designing a booth displaying deliverables, collaborate/seeking mentorship from professionals, attending stakeholder events, establishing a team brand, and designing a miniature f1 in schools car. Below, we have disclosed a few of those things along with an overview of the competition.
